How to Grow a Cactus

In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, Your Cactus Will Grow

  • Keep your cactus warm in the sun.
  • Water when your cactus gets wrinkly—that means it’s thirsty!
  • Add plant food every 3 weeks.

In the Winter

In the Winter, Your Cactus Will Take a Nap

  • Don’t water too much—only if you see wrinkles!
  • It’s time to sleep, not eat! No more plant food until the springtime.
  • Move your cactus to a cool spot, but don’t let it freeze.
